
Only One Battle

WARNING: This game is completely made in Python/Pygame, which is often detected as a virus without signing the .exe (which is expensive). If it gives issues during downloading, claiming it is a virus, please ignore it. Your virus software may give false positives, but we assure you that it is not a virus. All the game's code is publicly available on GitHub linked below (click more information). If you still don't trust us, you can play the web version.
However, the web version runs much slower and may not work as smoothly as the downloadable version. If you experience any bugs, please try the downloadable version then.
Any case of the downloadable version having issues, just try and reopen it!

Summary:
Only One Battle is a short bullet-hell focused on player choices as the main character fights a Lovecraftian amalgamation of grief, finding out for themselves how they tackle grief.
Player Attacks:
Gun: Despite the intimidating name, this limp pocket rocket fires in an arch which can damage the boss after charging it for a second. Remember, the farther away the boss, the higher you aim.
Syringe: This close-ranged medical dagger injects health into the boss.
Shield: This isn't a weapon, however this shield lasts for 20 seconds and has a cooldown of 10 seconds. This shield blocks only rockets and during use, it won't allow the player to switch/use any weapons.
Boss Attacks:
Wave: Sends a wave of white pillars from the ground.
Pillar: Sends a singular pillar of random height.
Heart Beat: The boss sends a octagon of bullet out in every direction.
Stage 2:
Acid Splash: Shooting downward; acid is left on the ground for the player to die in.
Laser Pillar: Sends a vertical laser left toward the player, leaving just enough room at the end of the screen to not get hit. Hint: Stay left always.
Homing Rockets: In the name. Do little damage, but come in droves. Can be blocked by the shield.

1/2/3 - Switch Weapons (Gun, Syringe, Potions)
Left Click - Charge/Hold Gun or Shoot a Potion
